Rooster Hill: Chardonnay

Confession: I’m not a huge Chardonnay fan. This Rooster Hill Chardonnay may have changed my mind on that though.

Perhaps I should start branching out? According to The Wine Cellar Insider, “Chardonnay is the world’s most popular and important grape for producing white wine.”

This Chardonnay has your typical butteriness to it, but also leaves a nice, light refreshing aftertaste on your mouth. I really enjoyed pairing this with a bourbon cheddar cheese, but it would’ve also paired well with fish or a spinach-feta pizza (if you want to get really specific with your food).

Rooster Hill is located on the east side of Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region, about a five mile drive from the charming town of Penn Yan, NY. It is definitely a winery that’s worth the stop, my family has really enjoyed their time spent there on the terrace that overlooks the lake. Currently, the winery is also offering an ‘at-home tasting kit‘ –what a fun idea for a socially-distanced, night in!

I look forward to having Rooster Hill change my mind even more about Chardonnay, cheers!
